Initial references provided by the Interior Designer

Sometimes, interior designers reach me too late, which is partly my fault. My main source of clients is fibrous plaster producers, and the designers come to them with production-ready projects.

In this case, a young, talented girl came to us with a request to make a sleek, subtle design with tender flower ornaments.

The resulting sculptings made by DS-Taleon

She had already predefined a small, slender cornice, and all the engineerings were already in place, so we couldn’t move on the ceiling too much.

A close-view rendering with rough digital sculpting

At the concept stage, we saw that it wouldn't work - with all the light coming from the point lights the corners were dark. I increased the volume as much as possible in digital sculpture, made the background more complex, minimized the mouldings to give more room for the ornament, and integrated ventilation into the mouldings. The designer then added the hidden light.

Yet, I believe it would be better if it were bigger. What do you think?

Lovely story Dmitriy. Have you maybe reconsider to color those ornaments a bit like the initial references from Designer?
