The story of Lorenzo is a real example of resilience, courage and passion

From top level marketing manager with over 300 employees around the world to running his own ranch in the middle of the Soave vineyards and volcanic hills, near Verona, Lorenzo Costa is one of those people that you would listen to for hours.

Our visit to Lorenzo's ranch

A very tiny countryside road in the Soave area led us to a little world that you would never expect to find in the area. As soon as Savio and I arrived at his ranch we were welcomed by Victor, the pony, and Johnny, the Maremmano sheep dog. Lorenzo immediately made us feel at home and showed us around, introducing us to all his beautiful horses. “Thirteen years ago I was struggling to find the key to turn a big company around. Everything I was doing was correct on paper, but it was just not working.” Lorenzo told us. “I was getting very frustrated and took a day off to clear my mind. A friend of mine invited me to try horse riding. I had never done it before. As soon as I did it something in me changed, I felt an energy I hadn't felt in a while. The wellbeing I absorbed from the horse gave me the key to turn this company around. I realized how much I needed this connection with animals so I went back once, twice, three times, until I decided to change my life completely.” So 13 years ago Lorenzo bought his first horse, it was love at first sight. She taught him everything about living with horses and riding them. Many bad falls, many mistakes brought him to where he is today. Lorenzo now has his own ranch and riding school with 8 horses and a pony and once you enter his world you just feel on a different dimension.?In these 13 years Lorenzo has developed a new method to work with horses without hurting them in any way, playing with them and connecting with them on a deeper level, based on mutual trust. But Lorenzo has taken horse riding a step further as he believes that sightseeing and discovering places on the back of a horse is a really powerful experience.

A deep connoisseur of his territory, its history, culture and local communities, Lorenzo combines horse riding with authentic local experiences.?From combining wine tasting in one of Soave’s most beautiful wine cellars and producers, to mixing wellness and horse riding, to night walks under the moon and through woods he even runs multiple days experiences all the way to Trento, sleeping in unique and quirky places along the way, ideal for adventurous travellers looking for authentic and unforgettable experiences. After showing us his ranch Lorenzo invited us to join him for a nice glass (or two) of prosecco, accompanied by delicious local nibbles. We can't wait to try out his experiences in late March, when the weather gets warmer and nature is in bloom.
