A story about last night

#Sell with a story they say…
Today I want to tell you a story about a #sale. I have a very happy seller and buyer that signed a contract last night after 3 days of negotiations. The typical salesperson does about 25 negotiations during one given transaction from small things to final price negotiations. But this story is not about that if you want to know more about that listed to the FBI negotiator’s podcast, Chris Voss.
This story is about the best part of real estate, creating long-lasting relationships based on trust. I met this particular seller back in 2011 when I was a newbie in the Ranches. They were moving from Europe and they were looking for a place to rent. We spent about a week looking for the perfect home but due to the limited stock available at the time the rented something from my competitors at the time, @househunters. We stayed in touch over the years, they bought a house from the team at House Hunters and when it came to selling it in 2014 they contacted me as they wanted me to be their exclusive agent. We couldn’t achieve the right price, neither could the competitors :) and they rented out the house. Fast forward to 2020 during lockdown they contacted me and appointed me as their exclusive agent. We sold the house after 2 months of open houses, multiple offers and some not so fair( to use a mild term) games played by other agents.
The point that I want to make for anyone that is new in the #realestate industry is never to give up on building relationships regardless if you get a commission or not. Building a solid professional relationship will pay off even after 10 years, just make each client feel that they are the most important to you and not as a technique to close a deal but wholeheartedly. Give your best for each and every one of your clients and the rest will follow!
The buyer’s story is as interesting as the one above but that will be left for another day.
I just wanted to share with everyone that had the patience to read so far :)) the reason why I do what I do and love it after so many years. It’s all about the people you meet and if they trust you with what often is their biggest investment than what more can you ask?
It’s not about bragging, it’s about being grateful that I am one of the lucky ones that get to do what they love, every single day!
Thank you for reading!
