The Story of Kite Management

I named my company Kite Management after my grandmother.

She was Ethel Kite and lived with us when I was a small child. I thought it was a super cool name because every spring, when the temperatures moderated and the breezes were just right, my Dad and I would assemble a kite and take it to the park. We would experiment with lofting it into the air and see if it would catch in the breeze and take flight.

That wonderful toy that I was thrilled to share with my Dad in the park had the same name as my grandmother. Even as a young child, I realized she was a woman with formidable abilities. I sensed that in her much younger days she had forged a path with discerning and discriminating taste and style and had been the leader among her social set.

Just like Kite Management’s backstory, every company and brand has it’s own unique explanation. Entrepreneurs take painstaking care to select the perfect name and create a logo that distinguishes what the company stands for and represents. The story, name, and logo all become indelibly connected.

I wanted to master flying that kite so that when the breeze caught it with just the right velocity it soared high into the sky and enjoyed the unbridled thrill of going farther and higher than the other kites. At first, it takes a bit of experimentation to learn how to keep it afloat. With skills developed after many attempts, and learning something new each time, soon you keep the kite climbing and succeeding against the erratic winds.

When I became a corporate meeting planner, I discovered the same is true in the hospitality world. You learn something new and perfect your skills each time you plan and manage a more complicated project. Technology has been instrumental in allowing meetings to leapfrog farther and faster than we ever imagined possible.

After years of crafting conferences and meetings for other companies, I decided it was time to take all the experiences, knowledge and well-honed skills and create a company that will take projects to a new level of excellence. Without a doubt, it is possible to go beyond and at Kite Management, we take each single component our client’s entrust to us and plot a new way to create a more meaningful return on the experience.

Kite Management was born for two reasons. As homage to my adored grandmother who gifted me the belief that anything is possible once you have developed the skills and experience. And, because Kite embodies the expertise, experience and customer-centric focus to create unique, original and authentic events for our clients. At Kite Management, we are aiming higher. Going farther. Always.
