Fact:
“If you turn the Rubik's Cube once every second, it will take you 1.4 trillion years to go through all the permutations. It's estimated that less than 5.8% of the world's population can solve the Rubik's Cube. Statistics show that only 1 in 20 people who own a Rubik's Cube know how to solve a Rubik's Cube.â€
History:
The Rubix’s cube was invented by a Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubix to teach his students 3d structures and later licensed as a puzzle by Rubix in 1980 and the rest is history.
The Story:
I was always fascinated by this multicoloured brick but never tried to solve it or spend time on it and admired the minds solved it. The Lock-down days made me sit with the cube for a few hours and I found the solution was not that hard as I thought.
I solved it with zero knowledge about any conventional method or algorithms. All I did was tried random moves and discovered the cubes faces turning to same colours one or the other time, the solution was time consuming, but I did it. I was happy that I did it, but my approach on the problem was not right, there was no research or steps to understand the problem and plan about the solution. These is where I discovered I have learned something more than to solve a puzzle.
Lesson Learned:
The second time I could solve the cube in less than 30 minutes! I planed the whole process as a project, did my research about the cube learned about the algorithms and permutation combinations of the cube and I got the results!
Every problem around us is a set of limited permutations and combinations, the right time spend to identify and master the algorithms for it makes you solve it efficiently.
Achievements:
I just mastered a simple skill, but it made me stand above 94% of world human population. I earned a skill only 1 in 20 people who owns a Rubix's cube had. The achievement you get in mastering any skill is simple but immense. Happy Learning.
