The Story of Heroes.

A little boy who lived up in a loud and lively city grew up to become what he had always wanted to be - a salesman. Growing up, he saw adults work in their skycscraper offices and his thought was that they touch the sky and probably keep in their briefcases chunks of clouds. He couldn't wrap his head around how a lot of adults seem to know so much, especially his favourite uncle who was a salesman. His uncle was loved by the entire family even though he probably was the black sheep; dude had a funny way of thinking and acting differently from everyone. Once he stepped into the room, people's countenances lifted, conversations become electric and even the boy's little mind would get captured into the adults' world. His uncle worked in a small furniture company and all through his stay at this firm, he won The Employee of the Month and the Employee of the Year. He was liked by all - clients, prospective customers and the CEO. He wasn't just living the life this little boy wanted, he was the life the boy wanted.

Like every hero in a story, there is always a conflict to resolve or a quest to conquer and this is when life hits a different turn. In this boy's case, his uncle resigned. Everyone was wondering how a man in his early 30's who had a good thing going on for himself would throw everything away and every time he got asked, his response was the same - It was time. He would say this with the most reassuring smile. When the little boy heard, he decided to go visit his uncle to ask him a few questions. On arriving his uncle's house, he was fascinated by what he saw; his uncle - the life of the party, always bubbly, laughing, sharing a joke or making weird faces, sitted calmly at a table with many old books scattered opened all over the table and his very manly hands were on a little white typewriter. He felt as though he was standing in the middle of a crime scene and didn't know where to begin his investigation.

Finally, he summoned the courage to interrupt the tranquility in the house. 'Uncle' he said, 'is everything okay?' to which his uncle lifted up his chin and said 'come here'. His uncle showed him the 100 pages he had typed all by himself. He announced excitedly, 'I'm wiritng a book" and the boy didn't know what to make of that information. His uncle who took trips to the sky and had a chunk of clouds in his bag was seating behind paperwork and an unrealistic dream that people were going to buy the book.

You know the real hero in this story isn't the uncle or the boy. It's you. You reading this, thinking I will get to a point and let you in on what eventually happened. This is that moment that everything changes; this is your crossroad where life hits you right out of the park, where you question everything you've always known to be true. Writers reading this are the heroes of the story and this is your quest for this season:

Step out of your own skin. Stop feeding the fear you feel everytine you put pen to paper. Stop in your self-doubt stripped tracks and run this race that your entire body feels energized to. No matter how many stories are already out here, the world still needs to and wants to read yours. Write to unleash your soul. Write to soar. Write fo set yourself free. Write to find your purpose, Just write. And when you're done, write some more and some more.
