The Story of Chris Gardner, the Man Behind “The Pursuit of Happyness”

Chris Gardner not only failed terribly in his career as a medical equipment salesman, but he also lost his girlfriend due to his deteriorating financial situation. He remained with his son in motels, parks, airports, and even a public restroom when homeless. He laboured away at a brokerage business during the day and waited in lengthy lines at night to sleep beneath a roof.

In 1982, he became a full-time employee at Dean Witter after passing the licence exam. In 1987, he founded Gardner Rich & Co., a brokerage business in which he controls 75 percent of the shares. In a multi-million dollar agreement in 2006, he sold a tiny part in Gardener Rich.

Christopher Gardner International Holdings, with headquarters in San Francisco, New York, and Chicago, is led by Chris Gardner, who is also the company's founder and CEO. His life was dramatised in the Hollywood film The Pursuit of Happyness, which became a box office hit and was adored by people all over the world.
