A story behind the numbers

Writing can be a lonely activity. Not sure about other writers, but I prefer to write on my own without any disturbance from others. I can spend hours typing away, rewriting, rereading, restructuring, and reconsidering, all by myself.
When I'm finally pleased with my post and dare to hit publish...
Crickets...
Then the waiting and wondering start...
Will my article get noticed?
Will it attract any readers?
Will they appreciate my latest thoughts on paper?
Or did I miss the point I was trying to make?
Incoming feedback
On LinkedIn, the reactions to a post provide the first evidence that readers appreciate your work of art because they cared enough to click that button.
The next best thing is feedback in the comments. I regard this as an opening for engagement to better understand each other, reader and writer, so I appreciate it a lot. It provides insight into how my writing is perceived and how it inspires others to think and act.

But the best thing that happens now and again is when somebody contacts me in person and shares their feedback verbally.
A few weeks ago, one of my readers sat down with me and shared how much she loved the latest edition of my newsletter. It had struck a chord with her and her husband concerning their home situation. She thanked me from the bottom of her heart and urged me to continue writing. That's when it really hit me that I'm living my purpose: to inspire others to create a happy life by sharing my personal stories. I was so touched that I felt tears in my eyes. What a beautiful moment she cared to make for us!
So what?
I'm proud and grateful that we had this kind-hearted conversation. It's great to be on the receiving side when somebody compliments you. When was the last time you received a compliment or complimented somebody wholeheartedly? Let's create some more happy moments in each other's lives!
Now what?
When you're done reading this post, take a few moments to think of somebody who deserves your positive attention. Talk to them or give them a call. Or make sure you meet them soon. And enjoy creating that little spark of happiness between two people!
Take care and till next time!
Kind regards,
