The Story Behind CNEW Women Equipping Center

One week to go, it will be my one year in China, the most challenging and yet fulfilling year in my life.

Since June 2017, I kept having this voice come back to me “Elaine, you gotta go China”, “I don’t want to go China, why I have to go China, every time I was falling sick when I was there as the polluted air and unclean water .” I knew it was God spoke to me, but I didn’t want to obey and I was afraid of the unknown and discomfort. The voice was going on and on until November 2017, I could not get peace and sleep well and God cut everything. That was tough and I surrendered, I said “God, I go”. That moment I got ultimate peace I ever had.

27th November 2017, I arrived in Beijing. It was freezing cold in winter time. I said to God “I am here now, what do you want me to do?” I could not get any answer. I kept asking and praying, and God said “Elaine, help women in China.” I asked “how, I didn’t know anyone here, no connection, no resource, how could I do that, who am I in this position to do so?”

That was how CNEW Women Equipping Center started. Long story short,I set up the team with 7 shareholders in the company. John asked me this “Elaine, will you do this business even you alone left?” I looked into his eyes and said “I will, as it is my life”. And I knew that’s God’s business, I am an instrument for His Kingdom.

4 shareholders quitted in nine months (we are still good friends). There are couple of key moments I wanted to quit and I cried out with God. From the first day I decided to follow Christ and to live a life with purpose, I knew that all the way would be uphill and I never turn back. As I tasted the extraordinary of living a life with purpose, with joy, gratitude and content, and with His presence. 

Thanks Father God for looking after my health, my business and stuff in Singapore when I was not around. Thanks for His grace and favour wherever I go. Thanks for His provision and protection every single day that I depend on. Thank You for giving me wisdom and confidence to teach and speak truth. Thank you for holding my hand to lead me and guide me.

Tribute to John, who always tells me the truth, encourages and supports me through those toughest moments in the businesses. Claire, your kindness and caring, always is the first person tell me that “Elaine, I am with you and follow you.” Rainbow, your persistence, passion and energy is contagious, you said “Elaine, I will not allow you to give up even you want to give up, I will hold your hand to go through every ups and downs”.

2019, it is going to be more challenging, fulfilling and rewarding. Once an audience asked me at a conference speaking, “Elaine, what is your faith?” I show faith by my work.
