[Story No. 3] Crafting Community @ Cure
The glass door swings open and frigid arctic air faces retreat against the warm aroma of Counter Culture coffee and lively conversation. Even on a winter day when the air temperature struggles to rise above 20 degrees -- dozens of locals have made the trek to Freemason Historic District. Sitting on a simple corner along Boutetort & York Streets between stately 19th century mansions, is Cure Coffeehouse and Brasserie.
503 Boutetort Street | Norfolk, VA
The coffee shop which opened in Spring 2011 offers more than just the average cup of Joe. The menu features culinary specialties like fresh made sandwiches, soups, and salads. In the evenings, Cure creates the perfect setting for sampling local craft beer or wine, set to the backdrop of live music.
For the first time patron, the helpful baristas can craft the perfect beverage selection -- and the seasoned coffee connoisseur will find comfort with almost any drink concoction known to exist. While the actual experience of sitting down is highly recommended, to go cups are always an option. There are numerous attractions nearby which make for a great day "playing tourist". From museums to outdoor parks, Freemason District has plenty to offer.
