I meet a lot of people in my line of work as a Victory Coach. From my own family reaching out to me, friends, business associates, clients, the ones I meet at the grocery store or even strangers I attract through the sharing of a smile. Not to mention those I 'meet' on social media.
My heart has become a well of stories. Small, big, happy, sad, loving, vengeful, mysterious, deep, shallow and coloured with a million emotions. Some are voluntary, some involuntary and some I persuade by some prodding to understand better.
Stories, make us who we become. My dad used to tell me of a story where this princess defined her love for her father, as important as salt in her life. It remains with me even now after so many years. And, I resonated with that story. I saw myself as a child who was responsible who saw beyond the trappings of acquisition and believed in the power of love. That became my story, my reality.
We believe in the stories handed down to us and some are just that - stories. But we believe in it. It creates the choice we make - to be a victim or a hero. And, it's easier to play victim than be a hero. The job is onerous for the latter or so it seems.
Which leads us to question "Why?"
'Why am I not yet successful? Why am I not yet, married? Why haven't I earned those millions, yet? Why do I always get into the same pattern of relationships? Why don't I get the kind of job I desire? The questions continue in this tone.
WHY? That question dogged me through most of my life till one day, life splashed ice cold water, colder that the Ice Bucket Challenge, on my face! And, threw me out of the comfort of playing victim and take charge of my actions and choices.
It happens once or twice to most of us, at some point of our lives. And, that's when we are forced to accept all that we actually have. The love of our dearest ones, the support system we take for granted. The roof over our head. The comfort of our living parents whose devotion is limitless. The job that sustains our family. The zillion opportunities we are, truly blessed with.
We may not have the best, but the choice to change that remains with us. Do we have it in us to get out of the comfort we live in and accept change?! There lies the golden opportunity. Take it by the horns and change your reality. It is possible, believe me and the Universe, most of all. SHE HAS OUR BACK! If you stop questioning, "Why?" and begin saying, "What else is possible?" When we love, accept and approve of ourselves exactly as we are, EVERYTHING in life flows.
Peace, love and light for a glorious week and life ahead!
