Once upon a time, stodgy old men tried to eradicate all creativity and fun from the corporate world.?
They banished their corporations to allegorical Ivory Towers keeping themselves far from the effects of imagination, ingenuity, and originality. They believed business should be serious, cold, and impersonal.?
Not fun. Not fun at all.?
Terrible story, right?
Thankfully, the tides have changed, and levity has been brought into the workplace. People are being encouraged to be creative and think outside the box to solve problems.?
?As we consider ways to invoke our creative juices, especially when we are addressing big challenges, we would be remiss to ignore the time of our lives that was overflowing with pure, unrestrained creativity.
And of course, we're referring to our childhood.?
Think back to the time when you lived in a world of stories and fairy tales with monsters to slay and fears to be conquered.?
Celebrated “Coraline” author Neil Gaiman was quoted saying,
"Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten."
When it comes to beating dragons and solving other, not so scary challenges, we believe there are so many places to tap into inspiration and one wonderful example lies in the tales we were told as children.?
Want to talk about considering solutions outside the box?
How about trading the family cow for a handful of magic beans? But hey – it worked out for Jack, didn’t it? It also worked out for another crazy dream chaser, Sir Richard Branson.?

2 年This applies to many industries and I'm sure that many, especially in the legal industry, will still agree that business is a heavy and serious subject when in fact, all it is is a conversation that when done correctly, solves big problems for everyone involved.
