Stories & Magic: Your Ticket to Higher Sales
“People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories and magic.” Seth Godin
I frequently share how I was fired from a church years ago (I was a Campus Minister).
I also tell the story of how I once fired 7 empoyees in twenty minutes.
Watch Shark Tank and all the pitches start with a story.
We All Love a Good Story
Stories grab us and pull us in. They connect us with the audience and make us human. As the saying goes, “facts tell and stories sell.”
There are many reasons to tell a story about your brand:
- They help us remember facts & figues.
- They make us unqiue & set us apart.
- People pay more attention to a story than just someone running their mouth or sharing a bunch of information.
- They make us relatable to our audience.
- They allow us to charge more money.
Today, look at your brand and across all channels. What story are you telling? Is it a David vs. Goliath tale? Rags to riches? Or maybe a quest that your business is on to change the world?
Make sure the story that you tell is the one one you want remembered.

PS- Here’s a couple of businesses that were telling the wrong story!
