Stories Can Change Lives...

Stories Can Change Lives...

Wow!?That is a pretty powerful statement. Well, it is true, powerful stories can influence and change lives, and they deserve to be told.?

What is it about a good story that draws us in so easily?

Michael Margolis once said ”The stories we tell literally make the world. If you want to change the world, you need to change your story.” Stories are all around us, transforming societies, they even affect our buying behaviour. We are ALL affected by the stories we hear and the stories we tell.

According to experts, stories that have a personal and emotional element to them are deemed more effective. We easily remember a story that makes us cry, gets us angry or causes ecstatic joy.

Stories are influential. Think of all those incredible people that use Stories for the greater good. All the great TED talks, inspiring videos on YouTube, powerful documentaries...

Stories are the vehicles that inspire movements and change the world. Stories help us encourage people to take that action and Stories unify us!

We connect with stories because they expose us to the truth of who we are.

We all want to connect with a story that tells us about our challenges, triumphs, desires, conflicts and dreams. We connect with stories because they help define for us who we truly are and whom we want to be. Stories can motivate us to look inside ourselves and make changes to become better people.

Stories connect us with strangers!

Last month my teammate Tamar and I set off on a 7 months journey to shine a light on remarkable human stories to give viewers a window to a kinder and more compassionate world. I named this journey Expedition Kindness, which will take us over 8,899 kilometers through some of the remotest corners of our world to speak with earth guardians, local schools, tribes and nomads, disability advocates, female adventurers, and many more change-makers who are doing extraordinary things for their community.

My hope for this journey is to start a discussion and build a dialogue around change, and to create a movement of kindness which reminds us that we have so much more in common than that which divides us.

So many incredible Changemakers, good-doers and everyday heroes are shining their light for others in all corners of the world, yet it rarely makes the evening news.

We want to change that story, but we need your support!

We have received a once in a lifetime opportunity to cover stories that are not often represented in the mainstream media. Unfortunately, I can't share much about the location, but some of the topics will include a disability centre for victims of conflict, a children's orphanage and everyday heroes who are risking their lives for their community.

To help us cover some of the costs (fixer, translator, logistics) so we can share these very important stories with the world, we are currently trying to raise £6000

Any support, no matter how small or big, would be hugely appreciated ??

Alone we can only do so much, but together we can change the world ??

Can you help Expedition Kindness?
