The Stories Behind The Camera At #ActivateDigital2019

Having the opportunity to interview some of Canada’s top IT Industry executives and thought leaders at this year’s #ActivateDigital2019 Conference in Toronto provided me with new and exciting insights into where the digital evolution is heading in Canada and beyond.

While this was a “digital” conference, the subject of supply chain came up on numerous occasions. This latter point of discussion was particularly insightful in the context of the results from the Mckinsey digital survey. Specifically that while only 23 percent of the 1,600 global company executives who participated in the survey indicate that they currently have a digital strategy, just 2 percent have a digital vision for their supply chain.

The major disconnect here is that the paucity of supply chain digital initiatives belie the fact that 70 percent of all digital transformation plans are delivered through an organization’s supply chain.

All this being said, and over the coming weeks I will be sharing with you the video interviews I did with executives such as HPE Canada President Paula Hodgins and Cisco Canada’s Director of Cybersecurity Michael Tyron, so stay tuned.
