Storeleaks... Best stuff, nearby!

So finally I launched my second startup (first one was muglatte.com) last October storeaks.com. This platform is a new concept that I developed to simply answer one of the most trending questions on Facebook groups Where can I buy “whatever”?

I myself am the creator and admin of a facebook group dedicated for moms (17K+ members), so I couldn’t help not noticing how often moms come to ask where can I buy this or that. But what really triggered the need for a solution was living in Al tagamoo in Cairo, because sometimes I had to go longer distances to buy things I needed just to find out later that it was available in a nearby store! So I thought there must be a way for technology to solve this problem.

So what is Storeleaks? it’s a social platform, for store owners to create accounts and broadcast photos of their products along with details like store location and a small description. On the other hand users can use the platform to search for their desired products in nearby stores.

You might ask yourself why not just use google,  just find the product in an online store and place an order? Well there 2 answers for this:

First, online shopping is not always the best solution. If you are on a hurry you cannot wait for delivery. Also, many people prefer not to pay additional delivery specially if they can find the product nearby.

Second, the trend of webrooming. Webrooming is the trend of browsing things online but preferring to make the purchase from the brick and mortar (offline) store. A report generated by statista.com for webrooming penetration among worldwide consumers as of September 2014. During the survey period it was found that 30 percent of global consumers had browsed products online but ended up purchasing them in-store.

During the last month, we offered 12 stores from Egypt to join our platform  - because we limited accounts to invite only - so we can test and improve our very first version. You can check all the products they uploaded here and at the moment we are developing additional features before starting our marketing operations.
