Stop Trying to Live by the Worlds Standards

In Romans 12, beginning with verse one, we are given instructions on how to live. These passages have been life savers to me all through out my life as I'm sure they have been to many others.

From the very beginning we are told "do not conform to the patterns of the world." These first two verses alone have set me free from what the world has told me to be. I don't have to go along or be who others want and expect me to be. I transform and renew my mind so I know who and what it is, God, wants me to be.

When we try to please the world a person ends up hopeless. Greatness never comes from someone trying to please anyone else. Greatness comes from stepping out from the crowd. Different is okay, it's healthy, it's what was intended.

I never would have been good enough or excelled to where I am today if I would have tried to measure up to the world and it's standard of me. The world has a way of beating a person down. It saps every good thing out of a person and at times makes them wonder what the point of their existence is. However, God builds up. He gives us hope and our life's purpose. A purpose that has meaning beyond superficial or oneself. One that involves helping others and encouraging them to find and live out their life's calling.

So many people need hope. Their life, job, marriage among other things are not what they expected them to be. Depression sets in for some, and its at times like these that the end result often leads to suicide.

With God there's always hope. A message so many People are needing/craving to hear. They want to know there's a better way; a better life. This is where we come in.

Don't be afraid to stand for something that truly matters. Don't be afraid to tell others of your belief in Christ. I truly believe you can save a persons life by just offering a little love and hope. ?? You don't have to be a preacher or shove your beliefs in someones face. No, you share by living, encouraging. People can see happiness and hope from a distance. They will flock to those who have it. You can share by merely living out your beliefs and then encouraging and offering hope when you see someone who needs it.

No matter where the opportunity arises, be a life giver. Regardless of social standing, color of skin and other road blocks people put up, be a friend. "I am one, but I am one." Be the one to change and save a life. Be the one who stands apart from the worlds standards. Be unique and make a difference.
