RECHARGE: WHAT TO WATCH, READ AND LISTEN TO

(1) MIT Sloan Management Review. Hands down, one of my favorite business pubs to read these days. (2) 7 Rules of Power: Surprising -- but True -- Advice on How To Get Things Done and Advance Your Career by Jeffrey Pfeffer. The professor of organizational behavior at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business gives practical and necessary advice on how to use power. All 7 rules are exceptional, but "Network relentlessly" is my favorite and one that should not be ignored. (3) Good Arguments: How Debate Teaches Us To Listen and Be Heard. Two-time world champion debater and former coach of the Harvard debate team tells his inspiring story and teaches us the finer points of persuasion and influence. (4) Picasso's War: How Modern Art Came to America by Hugh Eakin. The fascinating story of how Picasso broke through in America during WWII. (5) Subtract by Leidy Klotz discusses our human tendency to add rather than take away. By paying more attention to the art of subtraction we can improve our businesses, communities and lives. (6) The Power of Flexing: How to Use Small Daily Experiments to Create Big Life-Changing Growth by Susan J. Ashford teaches us how to flex, a technique for growth and change. (7) The Digital Mindset: What It Really Takes To Thrive in the Age of Data, Algorithms and AI by Paul Leonardi and Tsedal Neeley gives us three approaches to the digital world: collaboration, computation and change. A must-read for any leader who wants to sharpen their digital transformation skillset. (8) Queen of the South (Netflix). Action series about Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. What ensues is five seasons about Teresa's climb to the top of her own cartel. (9) Black Bird (Apple +). Series based on the true story Jimmy Keene, a convicted drug dealer who is offered his freedom in exchange for coaxing a confession out of suspected serial killer Larry Hall and finding out where his victims are buried. Starring Taron Egerton (Kingsman), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Paul Walter Hauser (Richard Jewell) and Greg Kinnear (As Good as It Gets). (10) Alone (Prime Video). I don't watch much reality TV, but this show is mesmerizing. Ten contestants are dropped into the wilderness with only 10 items of their choosing. The person who outlasts all the others wins $500k. The skills of these contestants are seriously impressive -- especially the shelters they build.
