Stop the stigma. Embrace empowerment. Become a supplier.
In life we all go through our fair share of fashion trends, from flares to bellbottoms, ties to open-collar: who’s to say that hearing aids should be any different? Why limit your style?
It is time to embrace your hearing aids and share your confidence with the world. We’re making a statement in 2021 to bring fashion back to your aids – we present to you DeafMetal!
Every day, people admit to hiding their hearing aids, unsatisfied in their appearance as chunky, clunky machines that lack personality. DeafMetal shatters this stigma and allows hearing aid wearers to discover newfound love for their devices, making each day a fashion-forward day.
Finnish designer-to-the-stars Jenni Ahtianen lost part of her hearing in 2018. Dismayed, she remarked at the time that “You can't even find a beautiful picture of hard on hearing people in any lifestyle, fashion or beauty magazine. Apparently, these industries don't find hard of hearing people with hearing devices beautiful enough to be published.”
Thus DeafMetal was born!
She designed an ingenious yet deceptively simple tool, ‘The Holster’, which holds is the key to everything: made of flexible hypoallergenic silicone which can expand up to 600%, the holster is made to fit around your hearing device so that you can attach your DeafMetal Jewellery. It fits around almost every Behind-the-Ear device and Cochlear Implant processor on the market.
The Designs
DeafMetal has something for everyone, with styles for men, women and children of all ages. We boast a mixture of earrings that attach to your hearing aid, as well as jewellery pieces that require no piercings whatsoever.
All pieces are made from Sterling Silver and high quality leather.
