Executive Solutions are delighted to report, we have successfully completed our 2nd breakfast event. This session centered on Emiratisation within the Private Sector and I'm equally pleased to feedback, the event was met with full attendance and significant/ongoing interest. In the main, discussions centered around best practice in pooling talent, assessments, L&D and the generic subject of employee retention. Our plans over the coming weeks and months are to hold additional such Recruitment Events; where we aim to bring together both UAE Nationals and the Private Sector in a mutually beneficial and consultative environment.
As many of you will be aware, I am an EXPAT recruitment leader that has been in the region for coming on a decade... This will of course translate in my involvement in various Emiratisation drives over the years, with my knowledge and the evolving strategy to have a proportionate number of locals in the workplace finally turning in to a reality. After many years of seemingly STOP and START activity surrounding this area close to my heart, I’m genuinely enthused to witness the number of PRIVATE SECTOR companies that have now decided to support, implement and convert their thought behind positive inclusion to their business in to action.
From a personal perspective and as a foreigner who has been fortunate enough to grow a career and support a family whilst working in the region, I often feel an overwhelming sense of pride in my companies determination to consult and advise on such a topic… Why I hear you ask!!! Well, this is very much centred on my inclusion in such, soon to be historic changes and the positive long term benefit this will have a country that I consider my home.
The exciting forward moving facts are, the private sector is more obviously/visibly listening, or as mentioned previously, has awoken to the stark reality, this is a subject held closely to our leaders overall GOALS and will simply not be going away until all of the objectives to fully integrate the local population in to the work place have been realized.
For those of you who missed my last article, the events we hold, “MAWAHEB” (meaning talent in Arabic) have coincided with the recent and well-publicized news/e-campaigns on the government’s VISION 2021, alongside with our signing of an understanding with the MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation), which further supports their initiatives to include more locals, from Graduates to “C” Suite leaders in to the work place. The increased interest in our events have also coincided with announcements on the UAE’s National Agenda for Emiratisation, of which includes, 5 KPI’s, focusing on nationalisation and delivery therein.
Safe to say, we have been delighted with the response over the first two Breakfast meeting and continue to assist/consult partnered with like-minded local and international companies, who VALUE sight of their exposure to upcoming/current government directives and as importantly, feel the need to practically demonstrate their participation within this next wave of the regions evolving/more inclusive environment… One might say, THE EMIRATISATION PIONEERS.
From a commercial perspective, there is of course the additional benefit of, the sooner a business gets involved and realizes its responsibility to Emiratisation, the quicker it's on track to hire locals in to their business on a voluntary basis/advantageous position of choosing the BEST talent, as opposed to hanging on and maybe being forced to choose from the balance of a smaller, already restricted talent pool!!!!.... As the saying goes, "The Early Bird Catches the Worm"
I do hope you have enjoyed the sharing within this article and should you have any questions on any area of Emiratisation, such as TAWTEEN Gate, MOHR Point Scoring System, quotas, alongside the wider commercial benefits of supporting the nation’s drive to employ Emirati talent, or should you be interested in attending our next event, please get in touch on: [email protected]
Warm Regards
JOHN
