At best, dampness in buildings is misunderstood and, at worse, it is completely misdiagnosed. For almost 50 years, dampness surveys have been predominantly undertaken by commercial companies with products or services to sell. Diagnosis has relied on individuals who earn commission based on the results of their findings – often geared toward the services they provide and, at worse, it is completely misdiagnosed.

Whatever the age of the post it is worth repeating . In over 40 years in the industry I have always refused to employ surveyors on a commission basis. People on a commission based salary become sales people whereas the professionalism of the person/company should be the best selling point. Bonuses based on company performance are a positive route to follow.

Gosh..I recall meeting you over 20 years ago as a contractor for L.B. Lewisham. At the time i walked away from that site meeting thinking this guy knows his stuff. Pleased to see you have never lost that, and driving that same expert ethos than you did back then. See you in another 20 years perhaps!
