Stop it. Stop it right now!
An estimated 1 in 4 car crashes involves cell phone use
?Many distractions exist while driving. Cell phones are a top distraction. Almost everyone has seen a driver distracted by a cell phone, but when you are the one who is distracted, you often don't realize that driver is you.
What about hands-free devices? They are NOT risk free.
While some state laws focusing on handheld bans and carmakers putting hands-free technology in vehicles, it’s still not the best choice to drive safer. Your brain remains distracted by the conversation and not by what your hands are doing
You, yes YOU can do a lot to help prevent distracted driving!
- Stop using your phone while driving.
- Use social media to tell others about the dangers of cell phone distracted driving.
- Take the pledge to drive cell-free.
Have your company sign a pledge to not drive while using a mobile device when using a company vehicle or while driving for business purposes. We all can help by personally pledging to be safe on the roads. You can save a life, most likely your OWN.
Employers can help make a change. Currently, there is no state has a law prohibiting all cell phone use while driving. Still, employers can put policies in place banning the use of handheld and hands-free devices to eliminate cell phone distracted driving and keep their employees safe.
