Stop Right There!
As the world starts to pick up pace again.
Schools are back.
The work commute for some has increased.
After so long on lock down there is constant pressure to get that economy going.
See friends and family quickly before the second wave of lock down.
Can you feel it?
Can you feel the pace of life after lock down gaining momentum?
How do you feel about it? Excited, Apprehensive, Concerned, Sceptical, Cautious, Happy? All valid emotions. So as we are about to head into our life after lockdown what lessons can we take from that first few weeks of lockdown?
Stop Look Listen and Feel!
Stop what you are doing, take a deep breath, fill those lungs, slow down that heart rate and ask yourself is this task taking me closer to my goal or where I want to be, or further away? By asking yourself that key question you can check in with yourself and steer yourself in a direction of what serves you most.
Stop saying yes to everything. Ask yourself, is this what I want to do? Or is this what I think I should do? If it is a should, just say NO! (If you have trouble saying no, get in touch I can help you set boundaries which serve you!).
Look around you, look at the trees swaying in the breeze, the leaves changing colour, the birds the clouds in the sky. Just take a moment, just like those first few walks you appreciated after lock down when it was the first moments of freedom after a few weeks. Look up more than you look down. Look for smiles in the crowd and smile back.
Listen, listen to your inner voice, what is it saying? Is it kind? Is it supportive? If not we need to walk on your inner mentor so you can get out of your own way and start living the life you deserve.
Listen to you breathing, slow it down, big deep breaths in and out, how amazing our bodies are, filling with oxygen and fuelling us.
Listen to your friends, your family, your colleagues, really listen, not with intent to reply, but just really listen. You never know what you may hear. You can also learn to hear between the lines and the "I'm fine's" and really make someone feel valued and heard.
Feel, feel any tension you are carrying in your shoulder your neck, your back and just commit to relaxing the muscles and stretching.
Feel the wind on your skin the sun on your face.
With just these simple things, you can take a moment out of your day to centre yourself and bring some calm back to your daily life. The calm we all had during lockdown. So you can have that fulfilment and stillness that you deserve!
