Stop Pitching Your Services: Here’s What Works Instead
Hello,
Today, I want to share an insight that will improve your outreach efforts: Stop pitching your services!
Yes, I’ve said it - pitching doesn’t work anymore. When you pitch, you’re only targeting the 3% of the market who are ready to buy now. Even within that small segment, trust is a major hurdle unless you’re perfectly positioned. This means you’re leaving a staggering 97% of potential clients untapped. No wonder traditional pitching is falling short.
What Works Instead:
To truly connect with your audience and build meaningful relationships, consider implementing these five key elements:
1. Be Human
Humanise your outreach by sparking genuine conversations. This approach cuts through the noise and allows you to form real connections. Yes, it takes time yet is particularly effective for smaller businesses that can invest in relationship-building. On LinkedIn, try using voice notes and video messages to add a personal touch.
2. Be Different and Stand Out
You can’t expect people to know how great you are unless it’s clearly reflected on your LinkedIn profile. Many entrepreneurs are 5 to 10 times better offline than their online presence suggests. Your profile should showcase your unique strengths and stand out from the crowd. Be less #vanilla and use your profile as a powerful tool to initiate conversations.
3. Add Value
Instead of pitching, focus on adding value upfront. Provide insights, share valuable resources, and help solve problems. This not only builds trust but positions you as an authority. A great way to add value is through a "goldmine guide"—a high-value resource packed with actionable insights.

4. Start a Real Conversation Through Curiosity
For smaller businesses, being curious and starting genuine conversations can be a great way to get your foot in the door. Ask thoughtful questions and show interest in your prospects’ challenges.
However, for larger businesses, this approach might not be as effective due to their busy schedules. In such cases, focus on adding value and addressing their specific needs. Once again, adding a lot of value to start off the conversation will help you open more doors!
5. Be Omnipresent
Don’t message once and forget about it. People are busy, and follow-up is crucial. Retarget your prospects through LinkedIn ads and other platforms where you can add value and educate them about your services. Share examples of your success stories and keep your brand in their minds. Being omnipresent makes it easier to convert prospects down the line.
In Summary:
By integrating these elements into your outreach strategy, you’ll start seeing real results. Remember, it’s about building relationships, not just closing deals. If you have any questions or need further insights, feel free to reach out.
Wishing you success in your outreach efforts!
Warmly

2 个月Great, but I would add something that I am learning lately:: Enter the conversation in the target audience's mind, know the life situations they are facing and demonstrate that you understand it better than them - and talk about their biggest concerns and desires.
