A great opportunity is like time, it will never stop for you. You have to act upon it.
Yesterday I found these pictures on my laptop. I still remember these pics are from the event that happened 6 years ago, the very first time I explained my idea to so many people. I was so nervous. Will I be able to pitch my idea correctly? Will people like it? I have just stepped-in in the industry, will they take me seriously? Is this idea really different? Does this website look good? Will they be able to see my hard work? And so on.
It was the Arena Animation who provided me the first platform to showcase my talent in Elan ( Huge Annual Event of Arena Animation ). People started to come. My classmates seemed really confident as compared to me. I was terrified. A person came to me saying that this website really looks cool. What did you use for this carousel? What is the concept behind this website? Why did you choose this topic? I started to explain to him the whole very concept of the website, the reason for the topic, my idea, color theme, icons, and everything. Listening to this, more people gathered near me. They all were looking so excited about the website.
In no time my confidence boosted and I’m no more afraid of the situation.
Few of them even told me to make this website live as the idea behind the website was unique at that time and in major demand.
I even won the "Artist of the Quarter" for this website.
Well, you can say I was just a first-year student at that time, and didn’t knew anything about the industry, or was just foolish enough to ignore the suggestion to make it live.
After looking at these pictures now and remembering that time, I realized one of the most important things that you should always look for great ideas and if they come to you, just stop wasting time thinking over the idea and start acting on it. Do some R&D, look for platforms, document your idea, if confused take some advice from your mentor or friend whomever you look at as your role model or advisor.
Just start acting on it because you never know when your hard-work pays-off with a touch of fate. What if it gets hit in the market or you lose such a great opportunity because of over-thinking.
