It's no secret that modern audiences are more distractible than ever. If you don’t get them involved right away, you risk losing their attention.?
But too many presenters focus on delivering all their information without giving the audience an immediate benefit. This can cause listeners to check out and reach for their phones.?
In my workshops, I aim to give participants a quick win. What is that?
A quick win is gaining a fresh insight, applying a skill, or discovering the power of an ordinary experience.
I give participants an early win by having them share a story with a partner about a positive experience they’ve had in the past week. This simple exercise may uncovers a lesson that’s universal, relatable, and valuable to everyone.
How can you create a quick win?
Creating a quick win helps your audience connect, engage, and feel like they’ve already gained something useful in the opening minutes of your presentation.?
What quick win will you create for your next talk?
