Stop Losing Business on Social Media: Easy Fixes to Get You Noticed!

Stop Losing Business on Social Media: Easy Fixes to Get You Noticed!

Let’s be real: if your social media game isn’t on point, you’re probably losing out on potential clients. Social media is your virtual storefront, and if it’s locked up tight with a “Closed” sign, people will walk right by—digitally speaking. Don’t let that happen! Here are some super easy tweaks you can make today to stop missing out on business and make your social media shine.

1. Is Your Profile in Hiding?

Imagine this: you have an amazing product or service, but your social media profile is locked down like a secret vault. How are people supposed to find you? If your settings are too private, you’re basically putting a giant “Do Not Disturb” sign on your business.

What to Do:

Check those privacy settings, especially on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure people can actually find and follow you. Worried about personal content? Create a separate group for family and friends—then open up your business profile to the world. If you wouldn’t put a gate in front of your physical store, don’t do it online either!

2. Hide-and-Seek Contact Info?

True story: I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve tried to reach out to a business through social media, only to find...nothing. No email, no phone number, not even a website! It’s like playing hide-and-seek, but no one wins.?

What to Do:??

Make sure all your contact info is easy to find. On LinkedIn, hit that "Contact" section and make sure everything is filled out—email, website, phone number, you name it. Same goes for Facebook and Instagram. Don’t make people jump through hoops to connect with you. The easier it is, the more business you’ll get!

3. Your Personal Profile is a Ghost Town

“I only use my personal Facebook for friends and family,” you say. Cool, but if I check out your profile and have zero clue what you do, you’re missing an opportunity! Your personal profile can totally be a sneak peek into your business world without losing that personal touch.

What to Do:??

Use your personal profile to give subtle (or not-so-subtle!) hints about your business. Add a fun description of what you do in the “About” section, and make sure your business page is linked correctly. You want someone who’s checking you out for the first time to instantly know what you’re about.

4. Oops, Wrong Link!

One of the biggest mistakes I see is broken links or—gasp!—the wrong links entirely. Maybe you tried to link your Facebook profile to your business page but accidentally sent people to a random “Entrepreneur” page instead.

What to Do:??

Check, double-check, and triple-check your links! Make sure they go exactly where you want them to. If you’ve got a Facebook business page, link it correctly from your personal profile. No more sending potential clients into the social media wilderness!

5. Instagram Links: More Than One!

Okay, Instagram only lets you have one link in your bio. Not ideal, right? But don’t worry, there’s a way around it, and no, it doesn’t involve social media magic.

What to Do:??

Use tools like Linktree (or something similar) that let you have multiple links under one. That way, you can send people to your website, your booking page, your latest blog post, and whatever else you want to show off. One link, infinite possibilities!

6. LinkedIn Needs Some Love

LinkedIn is like the suit-and-tie version of social media, and yet, so many people ignore it! If you’re not using LinkedIn’s newsletter feature or filling out your profile to the max, you’re definitely leaving business on the table.

What to Do:??

Start a LinkedIn newsletter. Seriously, it’s a great way to stay in front of your connections and keep them updated on what you’re doing. And don’t forget to load up your profile with all your details. The more complete it is, the easier it is for people to do business with you!

7. Link to Everything!

If you’ve got multiple websites or landing pages, don’t be shy about linking them all. The more ways people can find you, the better!

What to Do:

Got an event page? A booking link? A main website? Put them everywhere! Use URLs that are easy to remember and redirect them to the right pages. Make it super simple for people to get to exactly where they need to be—whether it’s booking a call or signing up for your next event.

Social media is a treasure chest of potential clients, but you’ve got to make it easy for them to find you! Fix these little details, and you’ll stop losing out on business. I promise making these small changes can lead to BIG results.
