Stop Listing What’s Wrong and Take Inventory of What’s Right in YOUR Life!

Leadership isn't a position. No, it's much larger, much more significant than any title or ascending to any lofty role wherein appointment by an elite few or advanced education is necessary. I regard leadership as a profound privilege to serve and help people discover their blessings.

There's a meaningful distinction between being grateful and being blessed. Interestingly enough, so many of us express gratitude for our possessions, yet we seldom claim ownership over them. The critical distinction here is that while blessings come with action, gratitude comes with words.

When you transform your gratitude into action and recognize your abundance as gifts from God, you become blessed. However, being grateful for life and even all the blessings that God has bestowed upon you still isn't enough - if you want to optimize the quality of your life.

A dear friend of mine sums the point up this way: "A blessing is a true feeling that you have deep down in your heart which drives your thoughts, words, and behavior. While gratitude sometimes comes out as words only.”

Turning to His word we see in the book of Second Chronicles 1:11-12 God answered Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for possessions, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, and have not even asked for a long life, but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may govern my people over whom I have made you king; knowledge is granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.”

Blessings signify God-given gifts that are inherent within us. Characteristics and attributes such as wisdom, leadership, joy, and love. Whereas gratitude is verbalized chiefly for the temporary, worldly possessions that we've accumulated over time.

You can spend all your free time during the week and twice on Sunday counting your money and watching your stock portfolio grow. However, counting dollars over blessings will bankrupt your spirituality and leave a deficit in your soul!

Develop the habit of continuously expressing gratitude for even the smallest most minuscule of things in life, and I promise you'll be blessed tenfold with more. Cultivating an appreciation for the opportunity to count life's blessings and sharing such with others results in a profoundly rich abundance from God.
