Let’s face it- grant funding is the most popular means of fundraising for nonprofits. But you are not going to leverage this important strategy to secure funding if you leave your grant writing process up to chance without creating a system that improves your winning chances. In 2025, you need a systematic way to pursue grant funding.

This January #FundraiseWithAllwell is sharing the basic standard operating procedures to guide your nonprofit fundraising in 2025. Make it a date as we did every week for 8 months in 2024- every Monday by 9 a.m. in Lagos or 11 a.m. in Nairobi.?

A grant pipeline identifies relevant grant opportunities for your nonprofit and organises them so you can work towards writing your best grants. It proactively figures out which funding opportunities are the right fit for you, the target donors and the anticipated due dates. With a robust grant pipeline, you cannot be caught unawares by sudden deadlines or random funding requests.

How your grant pipeline sets you up for fundraising success in 2025

1. You can plan ahead and achieve better funding outcomes. With the pipeline, you know which grant opportunities are coming out this 2025 and the resources you need to put together for both writing the grants and delivering on the project. You can put together the right team-both in-house or recruit consultants.

If you need to create or join a consortium, you can begin prospecting the local or international partners in the project location and finalize the? partnerships even before the call for proposals is released! This means you hit the ground running on day 1 of the proposal writing phase while your competitors are still trying to figure out the call.?
