You want to leverage LinkedIn to the best of your ability.
I am sharing with you activities that you should stop doing:
- Stop tagging Tom, John, Christina, and Meagan in your posts. They are not obligated to respond to you, most times you tag 20 people, if 5 respond that is a lot. Recruiters who have spoken with potential candidates for a job opportunity or searching for great talent, are the ones who can tag you.
- Stop messaging persons in their inbox saying, "Like and comment on my post." Don't act desperate for vanity metrics likes and comments. This type of behavior is not going to land your 1st client.
- Stop doing videos longer than 60 seconds, people's attention span is very low. The world is so fast pace presently that the average 'Joe' is trying to consume as much video content in the shortest possible time schedule they have. Think about this carefully.
- Stop sharing other person's content. Share yours. Don't you want to grow your personal brand and be a thought leader in your industry? A like and comment on someone's post you find interesting is enough. Post fearless, not fearful, and you can create an awesome content creator.
- Stop trying to sell someone your service when you need coaching. I see many people trying to sell people courses when in essence they need a program. Research your prospects thoroughly first, before prospecting. Don't be foolish.
- Stop doing too many LinkedIn and audio per week. At least (2) each week is good. When you focus on that so much, you not dedicating your time to obtaining clients through proper outreach messaging. I see this mistake being made and event creators are frustrated by the lack of progress.
- Stop trying to be someone else. You are not Kim Kardashian or Lionel Messi. Be you, and let people like and trust you for who you are. A person of integrity goes for a lifetime. Take critical note of that. Always serve others and not yourself.
- Stop shying away from the video. If you are on LinkedIn and never post one video. I don't want to work with you, I don't want to trust you, I don't want to connect with you, because how would I know it is really you? Catch what I am saying? If not, human beings psychologically trust and feel like they know you when they see you on video. It is simply human nature.
