Delegating: Assigning tasks without much guidance or involvement in the process.

Teaching: Involves a deeper engagement where you impart knowledge and skills, enabling employees to perform tasks independently in the future.

Teaching empowers employees with the deeper understanding and they get the clarity of why and how of the work should be approached, but in case of delegation its tough as during the process of delegation major understanding is that the person knows about what to deliver. Teaching helps in developing employees' skills, making them more capable and confident. While teaching might take more time initially, it leads to long-term efficiency and productivity as employees become more self-sufficient. To make the delegation successful one has to adopt the method of teaching , for which the following steps are mandatory :

1.Assess the readiness of the employees to accept what you are teaching

2.Demonstrate

3. Provide ample resources to learn through the same

4. Practice to learn and execute the best

Teaching through job would make an employee work more effectively as they have to come out of their comfort zone to learn and act as per the expectation . Teaching is a long term affair and through that not only a hand holding is initiated but a sense of responsibility is also inculcated which majorly gets missed by Managers after delegation .Delegation is more of a work done whereby teaching is most of understanding and is a long term affair .So if delegation is just the work get done, teaching is learning the work and enhance your knowledge and create scope of innovation and possibilities . .
