Stop the daily status report

Some other questions you might ask in the Scrum daily stand-up:

  • What prevented us from finishing this yesterday?
  • What would we miss out on if we declined all our meetings, closed Outlook and Teams, and could focus on just one thing all day? What might we achieve?
  • Is this work about the size we estimated it?
  • If it's larger / more complex, should we persist with it in this sprint?
  • If so, what should we drop from the backlog to make space for it?
  • Does it make sense to keep working on this on your own?
  • Is there a good reason to not have several of the team work on this?
  • Do we still support working on this in this sprint?
  • Does everyone understand why we're doing this?
  • Does anyone object to what we're doing in this sprint, or how we're delivering it?
  • Do you think we should be working on something else?
  • Do we think we'll meet the acceptance criteria?
  • Should we go about this a different way?
  • Does this still contribute to the sprint goal?
  • What's changed since the start of the sprint?
  • Is there something more important or valuable we could be doing instead of following the plan?
  • Are we certain this is worthwhile? And why?
  • How do we know this is the right solution? How are we validating it?
  • Should we be consulting with other people and teams now?
  • Who should be here in this room with us now talking about this?
  • Are we doing too much? Should we have stopped days or weeks ago?

Annoyed Picard meme with the caption and why do we have 15 things in progress when there's only 7 people in the team?
