Toothpaste and Slurpees almost got me arrested.
When I was young, my mom worked several jobs to make ends meet, and we still barely got by.
Our cupboards were bare, and necessities often came from family members.
One day before my mom left for work; she left enough money to get toothpaste, bread, and peanut butter to feed my little sister and me.
As we walked past a 7-Eleven on the way to the store, my little sister asked if we could stop for a Slurpee.
I knew we didn't have enough money for a Slurpee, but I told her that we could stop on the way back.
As we walked to the store, I contemplated how I was going to get my sister this Slurpee. By the time I got to the store, the solution had come to me...
I would steal the toothpaste.
Unfortunately, we never made it back to the 7-Eleven.
I felt so much shame after being caught that I thought having desires was wrong and would limit the desires I went after.
Being caught between what you NEED and what you DESIRE sucks!!!
For years I would have to choose between needs and wants, and I hated it!
The first time I started making the kind of money that would afford me both my needs and desires was in sales.
At that time sales was a boys club. (In some areas it still is.) I was a unicorn. I was a woman playing in a man's world and I was crushing it!
Did other women know this world existed? Did they know how easy it was to make money?
I started Align Sales to find out. I wanted to find other unicorns, teach them what I had learned and form a tribe of women that through sales we had all we needed and desired!
It's what we deserve. The only limitations we have are limitations we put on ourselves.
The mission of abundance for women is what drives Align Sales.
Everything we do, from helping women entrepreneurs in scaling their sales to supporting women in stepping into their power as sales professionals, is driven by freedom and abundance.
