If you’re reading this letter, chances are you’re not satisfied with your current level of performance in life, business, and relationships.
?
You may be working hard, learning a lot, and doing everything you think you should be doing.
?
But somehow, you’re not getting the results you want.
?
You’re not making the money you deserve. You’re not enjoying the happiness you crave. You’re not achieving the success you dream of.
?
And you don’t know why.
?
You may be wondering what’s wrong with you. You may be feeling frustrated, confused, or even hopeless. You may be thinking that maybe you’re just not cut out for this.
?
But don’t worry.
?
It’s not your fault.
?
And it’s not too late to change.
?
Learning from Leaders
I learned a lot from these outstanding leaders: Grant Cardone, Patrick Bet David, and Tony Robbins. In my opinion, these individuals are living legends and among the most talented in the industry.
?
But even though I had spent all this time reading their books and listening to their podcast, I was still struggling to make the kind of money I wanted.
?
I was doing everything right, or so I thought. I was finding prospects who had a problem that I could solve. I was showing them how much pain they were in and how their lives would change dramatically if they solved their problems. I wanted to know if they had the money to invest in themselves and their future.
?
However, for some reason, they were still not buying from me. They were still hesitating, stalling, or ghosting me.
?
It completely drove me crazy.
?
I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.
??
Meeting with the Mentor
Until one day, I had a meeting with one of my mentors, who was formerly the CEO of a multinational bank in Africa. He then asked me a simple question that changed everything.
?
He asked me, "Who are your clients?"
?
His question at first baffled me. I thought I knew who my clients were.
??
They were anyone who had a problem that I could solve and who had the money to pay me for it.
??
But he shook his head and said, "No, no, no. That’s not enough. You need to go deeper. You need to know who your ideal clients are."
?
Just a few months later, an associate of mine introduced me to Alex Hormozi, who quickly gained popularity on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
?
This guy is definitely not your typical social media guru.
?
What comes to mind when you see a business guru teaching business strategies and mindset shifts while wearing shorts nearly 80 percent of the time and having muscles coming out of his ears?
?
You’d probably scroll to the next video, and if you did that, you'd likely have made the biggest mistake of your life.
?
Why?
?
Alex Hormozi is undoubtedly a formidable opponent, but that's a topic for another discussion.
?
In one of his podcasts, he talked about purposefully alienating prospects and customers.
?
I mean, the majority of people have difficulty acquiring customers, and this individual is advising them to "alienate" them.
?
In my mind, I’m like, "This guy wins the Superbowl for contrarian concepts."
?
I’d never heard anyone talk about this as in-depth as he did.
?
Of course, at this moment, my ears were completely glued to his words, and I wanted to know more. He spoke about Customer Avatar, and I had never heard that before.
?
Customer avatar? What the heck was that?
?
As you can see, a customer avatar is essentially a comprehensive analysis of the shared characteristics among your customers. This not only focuses on customer demographics but also psychographics.
??
And according to Indeed, demographic data serves the purpose of grouping a population with external factors like age, gender, race, and income level. While psychographic data focuses on human attributes such as values, motivation, and priorities. In the same vein, quantitative demographic data tells you who your customer is, while psychographics explains why a customer made a purchase.
?
Benefits of Customer Avatars
Alex Hormozi was really saying that if I wanted to boost my sales and business performance, I needed to identify and attract my ideal clients based on their customer avatar.
??
I needed to know what, why, and how they wanted it. I needed to speak their language, address their objections, and offer them irresistible value. I needed to purposefully alienate anyone who wasn't a good fit for me or my offer.
?
He stated that if I did this, I would:
?
And he said that this was the secret to becoming a legend in any field. He said that this was the secret he used to grow his portfolio companies. He said that this was the secret that many of the world's top performers use to dominate their markets.
?
Now the question was, did I have the gumption for this, and was I ready?
?
Of course, I was ready.
?
I wanted to learn everything he knew about customer avatars, including how to apply them to my business. I wanted to boost my sales performance in 30 days or less.
?
And I did.
?
By heeding his guidance and putting his strategies into practice, I was able to:
Boost Performance in 30 Days
And now I want to share this secret with you.
?
But just before I do that, I want you to not make the same mistakes that I did.
?
You see, I assumed that just because people knew about a problem and had the money to solve it, they would be viable prospects for my offer.
?
My mistake was to completely ignore the psychographics, which, in my case, were a motivating need or desire on the prospect's part.
?
A sale does not occur until there is a motivating need or desire on the prospect's part, as well as your ability to present a compelling reason why they should buy now and only from you.
?
Now, I’ve had conversations with overweight, rich people.
?
They know they’re messing up their health by eating unhealthy foods, but they still don’t make any reasonable changes.
?
Do they have the money to eat clean and go to the gym?
?
Absolutely!
?
And that's not all. They also have the money to hire a personal trainer, but unfortunately, they wouldn’t do anything about that either.
You want to know why?
?
They don’t have a MOTIVATING need or desire to be healthy and fit.
?
No matter how hard I try to persuade them to get in shape or how compelling my reasons are, it won't work.?
?
But in my case, what held me back for so long was a lack of knowledge. I didn’t know too much about customer psychographics.
?
And to boost performance, the equation goes like this:
?
Performance = Knowledge – The negative voices in your head (limiting beliefs).
?
And as a Christian, through the power of faith in Jesus Christ, I crush the negative voices in my consciousness by the second and minute.
?
However, even with all of that, my performance wouldn't improve because I had a knowledge gap.
?
Now, similar to Alex Hormozi, I aim to disassociate myself from prospects who, while perfectly matched by demographic data, do not align well with psychographic data.
?
If there isn’t a value, motivational, and priority match, then it’s a total waste of my time to continue engaging these types of prospects.
?
The truth is, a sale won't occur until a match is made, and once that happens, I may potentially conduct business with these types of prospects in the future.
?
But am I going to sit and wait around for that?
?
Hell to the frigging NO!
?
I'll add them to my newsletter, send them clips from my YouTube or TikTok channel, and send them valuable information that moves the sale forward. If they find anything interesting, they'll contact me. And if they don't, that’s cool too. Their loss!
?
Life is too short to waste my time babysitting grown adults. I’ll leave that for some other sales amateur to do.
?
So, what am I really saying here to you?
?
If you want your performance to improve, then you need to bridge your knowledge gap because not knowing will hurt you, just like it did for me.
?
You also have to completely quell those negative voices in your head telling you that you’re not good enough.
?
To be good enough, all it takes is, first of all, to make a decision to change. You have to hate the position you're in, and then find people who are already where you want to be in life.
?
You see, success leaves clues, and if you want to be successful, you just need to find someone who is successful and copy that person, as Tony Robbins will always say.
