Stop Chasing Greatness (It’s Looking for You)

I know.
It doesn’t make sense.
After all, we’ve been told to crush our goals, do great things, and live our dreams.
But what if we’ve had it backwards and greatness was actually looking for us?
Consider the people we aspire to be like.?
The ones who make us stop in our tracks and admire their work.?
The ones who seem to have a little something extra.
If you listen, the greats, the GOATs, and the gifted ones aren’t talking about chasing greatness.
They talk about consistently chasing their potential.?
To be THEIR best.
Consistently putting in good work.
Consistently trying to better their best.?
Even when it hurts.?
Up early while the rest of the world sleeps.?
Mastering self.?
And the fundamentals of their craft.?
Working on their gift instead of taking it for granted.
You see, I think they know two things that most people don’t even think about.?
Consistently good crushes occasionally great.
Greatness is subjective.?
Elusive.?
Like catching smoke.
Greatness is defined by others.
The industry.
The fans.

Your peers.
Your clients.?
Your friends.?
Your family.?
History will determine your greatness.
So how does greatness find you?
I think comedian Steve Martin said it best.
?“Be so good they can’t ignore you.”
I believe greatness works the same way. Be so good that greatness can’t ignore you.?
Greatness is looking for those who are good enough to be great.
The Super Good.
Super Good is the consistent pursuit of your potential in three areas.?
Every performance should be measured against two things.
Your potential and your last performance.
In business, our mantra was, “We are only as good as our last job.”
Your brand lives in the mind of the consumer and what they are silently asking is, “How good are you?”?
When you are consistently good, greatness will find you.
Are you good enough to make us stop in our tracks and admire your work??
Are you good enough to make us stand and cheer for you??
Are you good enough to make hard things seem easy?
Greatness is looking for you.
Are you good enough to be GREAT?
