Stop bothering me, Dad...!

He was a son who did not like to live in his father's house, because of the constant “irritation” on his part.

-??????′′If you are not going to use it, turn off the fan ′′

-??????′′The TV is on in the room where no one is... Hang up!"

-??????′′Close the door′′

-??????′′Don't spend so much water′′

The son didn't like his father bothering him with these little things. He had to put up with it until one day he received an invitation to a job interview.

-??????"As soon as I get the job, I'm going to get out of this city. I'm not going to hear another complaint from my father."

That's what he thought...

When he left for the interview, the father advised:

-??????′′Answer the questions you are asked without hesitation. Even if you don't know the answer, mention it with confidence."

The son arrived at the place of the interview and realized that there were no security guards at the door. Although the door was open outwards, it was probably a nuisance to people passing by or entering. He closed the door and entered the place.

He could see beautiful flowers on both sides of the path, but the gardener had left the spigot open and the water in the hose kept running. The water overflowed in the street... He lifted the hose, switched places, and placed it near other plants that needed it.

There was no one in the reception area, however, there was a sign saying the interview would be on the first floor. He slowly walked up the stairs.

The lights were still on at 10 a.m., probably from the night before... He remembered his father's warning:

-??????′′Why do you leave the room without turning off the lights?"

It seemed like he could hear him now. Even though he felt uncomfortable with this thought, he reached for the switch and turned off the lights.

In a large hall on the 1st floor, he saw more people sitting waiting for their turn. He looked at the number of people and asked if he’d have any chance of getting the job.

He walked into the hallway with a bit of nerve and stepped on the 'Welcome' mat, placed near the door, but realized it was upside down. He then straightened the same carpet. Habits are hard to forget.

He saw that in the front rows, there were many people huddled waiting while the back rows were empty, and several fans were pointed toward those seats. He heard his father's voice again:

?-??????′′Why are the fans connected in the area where no one is?"

He turned off the fans that weren't needed and sat down in one of the empty chairs.

He saw many men entering the interview room and exiting through another door. So, there was no way for anyone to guess what they were asking in the interview.

When it was his turn, he stopped in front of the interviewer with some concern. The person in charge took his papers and without looking, asked:

-??????“When can you start working?”

He answered:

-??????′′Is it a trick question being asked in the interview or is it serious that I am being offered the job?"

To which the interviewer said:

-??????“We don't ask anyone questions here because we believe that through them, we won't be able to assess someone's abilities. Therefore, our test is to evaluate the person's attitudes.”

-??????“We did some tests based on the candidates' behavior and observed everyone through cameras.”

-??????“None of those who came here did anything to fix the door, the hose, the Welcome mat, or turn off the fans or the useless lights.”

He was the one who did it, so he was selected for the job.

He was always bothered by his father's discipline, but by that moment he realized that thanks to this, he got his first job. His irritation and anger for his father completely disappeared.

Everything our parents tell us is only for our good, wishing us a bright future. To become human beings of value, we need to accept rebukes, corrections, and guidance that eliminate bad habits and behaviors. That's what our parents do when they discipline us.

Our parents are our “teachers” when we are five; a ′′ villains ′′ when we are about twenty years old and “guides” for life.
