STOP BEING JUDGEMENTAL

STOP BEING JUDGEMENTAL

Do you tend to believe people are either ‘good’ or ‘bad’? Do you have low self-worth? Do you struggle in tolerating people who are unlike you? Are you a pessimist? And did you feel uncomfortable while reading through this? If the answer is yes, congratulations, you are a JUDGEMENTAL person, but relax, everyone is.

Let’s be honest, nobody is goody two shoes these days. Life isn’t ideal and we aren’t perfect. We tend to point out faults in others but run away from those who do the same with us. This basically offers us a sense of superiority and false self-righteousness, a chance to ignore our flaws and an escape from getting hurt by others. While reading this you might wonder, “I won’t ever do that”, but the reality is that such behaviours are rooted in our unconscious mind.

Now how to overcome this habit? Well, there is no ‘how-to’ guide for it, but with a change in mindset, you might stop judging others. The more accepting you are of yourself, the more accepting you will be of others. When you accept yourself the way you are, you become less critical of others as well. Also, we should stop jumping to conclusions without knowing the backstory. By looking beneath the facade and immediate appearance of a person, we often find very human and tragic struggles. This, in turn, helps us to show compassion.
