I’m surprised as much as you are that it took that many...
Wherever you are, whatever you do and whatever ever happens - remember the stick.?
A simple one. Like the one we used to play with, throwing it to a happy dog. Or pretending that we’re knights and the dragons have nothing on us.
A simple stick usually has three parts. There are two extremes and a straight, long middle.?
No magic.?
Unless the stick is a magic wand or part of a flying broom.?
No science, no technology, nothing to reboot or update. No battery and no notifications.?
No surprises.?
Not much to forget, not too much to remember.
Yet, almost everything in life can be measured by and against that simple, non-magical stick.
Whatever you’ll do and wherever you’ll go there will always be those [people/clients] who love you [one end of the stick,] those who hate you [the opposite end,] and those who do not know you or don’t care.
Everything fits on such a stick.
Super rich, super poor and the middle class.
Good people, bad people, and the rest.
Black, white, and grey.
There are things you’re really good at, things you're terrible at and a big squashy middle full of things you have no idea how to do, things you don’t even know exist.
There’s a clear yes on one end, straight no on the other and a bunch of more or less silly excuses in the middle.
Just don’t listen to idiots who will try to tell you that sticks can have brunches, different sizes, colours, etc. They do not understand sticks.
And stay out of the middle, whenever you can.?
Middle is dangerous. In the middle you’re invisible. The middle is a black hole.
