Recently, leandbasell, the world's third largest acetic acid producer, had an acetic acid leakage accident, resulting in two deaths and six injuries. Then leandbasell sent three letters to inform customers that due to the impact of the leakage accident, the force majeure of acetic acid related products such as vinyl acetate, tert butyl acetate and propylene glycol methyl ether acetate took effect immediately.

According to the paint procurement network, recently, a number of overseas leading chemical enterprises encountered force majeure, and the equipment and facilities could not operate normally, resulting in the extension of delivery time or failure to deliver. The force majeure of some chemical enterprises at the beginning of the year had not been lifted, and the market supply was once interrupted, causing the concern of many chemical people.

SABIC, Dow, kostron and other chemical leaders are in supply crisis

SABIC: flooding in Europe damaged the naphtha pipeline in Europe, thus affecting the ethylene supply of local HDPE / LDPE / LLDPE. SABIC has previously announced the force majeure upgrade of LDPE in the Netherlands. At present, the enterprise has expanded the upgrade stage and announced that its entire PE production in Europe has encountered force majeure.

Dow: the supply of 340000 T / a MDI plant in Texas was interrupted due to unexpected mechanical failure of raw material suppliers. The MDI force majeure announced by Dow in February this year still exists.

DuPont: PA6 and PA66 of "Zytel" brand and pet of HTN materials (PPA), minlon (pa6.6gf) and "Rynite" brand are currently in force majeure.

Yanbu National Petrochemical Company: its PP and LLDPE plants were unexpectedly shut down. The plant is located in Saudi Arabia and has polypropylene (PP) and LLDPE (LLDPE) plants. At present, no clear recovery plan has been given.

Kostron: the 320000 T / a MDI unit in Texas of the United States and the 420000 T / a MDI unit in brunsbitt of Germany are in the stage of force majeure.

Gazprom: repair the low density polyethylene (LDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) units of the enterprise, and the shutdown time will last for 30 days (about until late August).

Vinnolit: there is a problem in the raw material supply of the plant near Cologne, and the track connection and some infrastructure for the production of PVC and VCM (vinyl chloride) are affected accordingly.

Anqore: the production of acrylonitrile in Geleen plant in the Netherlands was reduced by about half due to force majeure.

Supply shortage, Eastman, Dow, Mitsubishi and other leading enterprises crazy price increases

Many leading chemical enterprises encountered force majeure, which undoubtedly boosted the anxiety of the chemical market. The rush buying tide superimposed on the continuous soaring cost and rising freight. Overseas chemical leaders announced price increases one after another, driving the industry to open a new round of price increases.

American higo oil company: since August 7, toluene has increased by US $0.01/lb (about RMB 142 / ton), xylene (shipped from Texas and Chicago), rubber solvent, fuel and other products have increased by US $0.04/lb (about RMB 567 / ton).

Wacker: from August 9, the prices of dispersions and dispersible powders in North America will be raised, and the prices of its overall product series will rise by 10%.

J-plus Co., Ltd.: since August 10, adipic acid plasticizers have increased by more than 30 yen / kg (about 1770 yuan / ton), and polyester plasticizers have increased by more than 50 yen / kg (about 2950 yuan / ton).

Dow: from August 15, the price of EA and ethylene glycol ether series products in North America increased by US $0.15/lb (about RMB 2128 / ton).

Eastman: since August 15, the price of acetic acid series products has been raised, with a maximum increase of 1418 yuan / ton.

Japan electrochemical: since August 16, the global price of chloroprene rubber products has increased, and the price abroad has increased by more than 500 US dollars / ton or 450 euros / ton (about 3200-3500 yuan / ton).

Japan Chuguang Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.: since August 20, olefin synthetic resin composites have increased by more than 10 yen / kg (about 589 yuan / ton).

Mitsubishi Chemical: since August 20, the price of bisphenol A has increased by more than 20 yen / kg (about 1176 yuan / ton).

Mitsubishi Chemical: since August 20, acetone has increased by more than 19 yen / kg (about 1117 yuan / ton), and MIBK and DAA have increased by more than 24 yen / kg (about 1411 yuan / ton).

Suzuka fine Co., Ltd.: since September 1, paint and diluent increased by 5% - 20%, aerosol products increased by 10-20%, and freight increased by 10-20%.

TOSOH: since September 1, the price of industrial grade mirabilite products has increased by 10 yen / kg (about 588 yuan / ton).

Osaka rubber: from September 1, rubber plates and rubber products increased by 10% - 20%.

Nippon coatings: from September 21, diluent increased by 15-20%, solvent coatings increased by 10-15%, waterborne paint and surface treatment agent increased by 8-12%, and freight increased by 10-30%.

Jinjianchuan rubber: since October 1, the prices of all products have increased by 10-20%.

According to incomplete statistics of the coating procurement network, at present, more than a dozen overseas chemical giants have announced price increases, and they all informed the details of the price increases in advance. Some leading enterprises have even arranged the price increases in September and October. At present, a variety of high-end raw materials in China still rely on overseas imports, and the tight supply in the overseas market will undoubtedly drive the price rise of domestic chemical products.
