The stock market retreated from all-time highs following a busy week of earnings reports and rising consumer sentiment. The week's best performer was consumer discretionary, driven by a 22% jump in Tesla shares after their earnings report.
The 10-year treasury ended at 4.2%, and the 2-year rate finished at 4.077%. The jump in interest rates since mid-September, when the 10-year reached 3.65%, has forced some investors to become more cautious about acceleration in inflation after the Fed rate cut.
