Stock Exchange District Video for Downtown New York with Neue Agency
The Neue team was excited to receive a call from the Alliance for Downtown New York a few weeks ago while filming in Atlanta. ADNY is a governmental organization that manages the neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, handling everything from safety and sanitation to marketing and development initiatives. For the past nine months, ADNY worked on a plan for the Stock Exchange District focusing on aesthetic and functional improvements.
We hopped a train to NYC for location scouting a week after getting the call from ADNY and walked the neighborhood with the team. The corner of Wall St and Broad St is one of the most historic in our country and is the second busiest intersection in the city (second only to Times Square). The area has an incredible mix of people working in finance and other industries, domestic and international tourists, and the most recent addition to the district, millennials moving into the new apartment and condo buildings. In fact, the population of the district has more than doubled in the last 15 years!
A quick train ride back to the office and we were off and running with a plan. Locations set, interview schedules coming in, talking points determined, it was time to put it all together.
The Neue team was on the ground filming in Lower Manhattan just a few days later: b-roll, time lapses, interviews, and pick up shots.
The main narrative of the video is driven by on-the-street interviews with major stakeholders in the project. Jessica Lappin, the President of the Alliance for Downtown New York, did a great job laying out the case for the changes and casting a vision. Tom Farley, President of the New York Stock Exchange, spoke about the aging security infrastructure. Roger Byrom of Addison and Brian Steinwurtzel of GFP Real Estate spoke about some of the aesthetic changes in the proposal. Finally, Trinity Church Vicar, Phillip Jackson, spoke about the importance of the district and the proposed custom gateways.
We couldn't be happier with how this piece came together, despite some of the challenges that come with filming in such a popular and bustling environment. The vision of the proposal came through clearly and we can't wait to watch this plan gain momentum over the months and years ahead.
