Stirring effect of horizontal mixer
The mixing process of the twin-horizontal shaft mixer not only occurs in the radial direction, but also in the axial direction. The main stirring zone is located in the circumferential direction of the agitator. During the whole mixing process, the energy value along this direction reaches the maximum value. Therefore, when the circumferential speed of the stirring blade is low (1.4-1.6m/s), the stirring space can be fully utilized to mix aggregate, cement and water. The mixing principle of single-shaft horizontal mixer and self-falling mixer is basically similar. The rotation of the mixing shaft (blade) is to lift the concrete to a certain height, and then make it fall freely to complete the mixing process. Therefore, when the single-horizontal mixer is in use, the effective working volume is smaller than the theoretical design volume, and the height of the whole machine is much larger than that of the double-horizontal mixer. In the production of roller compacted concrete, the actual production efficiency of a single horizontal shaft mixer is lower than the rated production efficiency.
Double-horizontal mixer. The mixing principle and process of the twin-shaft mixer ensure that most of the mixed concrete is stacked between the two mixing shafts, which reduces the wear between the mixing arm and the blade and the bottom plate. Practice has proved that only 25% of the blades in the non-main mixing zone are worn, and there is only slight wear or even no wear in the main mixing zone. The liner of the twin-shaft mixer can be selected from ordinary steel plate or wear-resistant cast iron according to the service conditions. Due to the higher peripheral speed of the impeller and the higher rotation trajectory of the impeller, the wear of the single horizontal axis mixer is greater than that of the double horizontal axis mixer. Therefore, use of expensive special steel increases maintenance costs.

The unloading time of the horizontal mixer is short, because when the twin-shaft mixer finishes mixing, the concrete is basically piled up near the unloading door. The discharge door is controlled by electrical appliances, and the opening degree is adjustable, so that the discharge door will not be stuck when it is closed. In operation, the mixer often needs to be started under abnormal conditions. Single horizontal shaft mixers can also be started under load. The double horizontal shaft mixer adopts V-belt and sliding gear structure, low noise, good overload protection function, suitable for maintenance.
