Stimulus-Response
Jeremy Epstein
Professionally, I am passionate about #Marketing and #Web3. I have other passions as well and I'm not shy about sharing them on LinkedIn. ????????????????
I’m far from an advanced meditator.
I also hesitate to talk about the “benefits of meditation” because it’s not something that I think should be done for “external” benefits, rather for intrinsic ones.
That being said, and with the repeated caveat that, when it comes to meditation, I am a novice, I do believe that one benefit is that it is possible to see benefits from meditation when it comes to increasing the distance between stimulus and response.
The training gives you the capability to notice things, such as someone saying something to you, and to have the presence of mind to observe it and analyze it before responding.
Keeping in mind that these things usually happen instantaneously, any type of increase in the gap between the two will be beneficial.
I don’t know how much gap can be put between them and it certainly doesn’t work all the time, but I have seen that, for me, I am able to pause for an instant before responding, whereas previously, I was not capable of doing so.
