Still remember the time when I was asked to port U-boot for Apple, and how Intel missed the opportunity
Saw this article online recently:
Intel made a huge mistake 10 years ago. Now 12,000 workers are paying the price.
I was the one who ported U-boot for Apple when they were interested in Intel's platform for their early iPhone (or iPad?) products. I still remember the time when I was told that a "strategic customer" wanted us to provide a U-boot port asap so they can try our platform, and that "strategic customer" turned out to be Apple.
I delivered the port with all features they required in short time, but never heard any update after that. Years later I learned that Intel declined this deal and, unfortunately, missed one of the biggest opportunities in this decade. What a pity!
