Sticky Situation to Dispose Adhesive Raw Materials
Client: Global Adhesives Manufacturer
Issue: Abundance of Outdated Raw Material and Finished Goods
Solution: Execute a ‘Free Up Floor Space’ Disposal Strategy
A Chicago-based global adhesives manufacturer was squeezed for space. Over the years, they’d been saving unused raw material and off-spec finished goods with the intention of eventually reworking and selling the product down the road. The decision was made that the space was now more valuable than the inventory, and ERC Midwest was called to create a solution to tackle the problem.
“Can you help us?” was the question. “Of course,” was our answer.
ERC Midwest deployed our waste regulation and characterization experts to the client’s site. Using our own deep chemical knowledge along with SDS information provided by our client, we were able to quickly segregate their inventory into 3 groups; non-hazardous, hazardous and reusable.
We then completed profiles on our client’s behalf and secured the necessary disposal approvals. Finally, we labeled, loaded and transported the non-hazardous waste off site to one of ERC Midwest’s waste processing facilities, the hazardous waste to an approved TSDF and the recyclable material to a qualified recycler.
As a result of our assistance, the client now had the free space needed to continue production and keep their customers happy!
Another complex waste problem solved. Happy Client!
