Sticking to my knitting!
It must be a least once a week I think to myself, Blog, I haven't written a blog, you know, if you're not out there engaging your target market then who knows what you’re working on. Inevitably being busy gets in the way and another week goes by and the blog is still sat on the shelf. This poses me with two questions – Firstly what am I busy with? that’s easy, working on my portfolio of roles amongst the glut of Human Resources roles not only across Auckland but also across NZ. Today, a seek search tells me there are well over 300 Human Resources roles alone in the Auckland Regions, and over 600 roles across the country. The first question then answers my second question, what to write about...Easy, as they say ‘stick to your knitting Kelly’ - HR Recruitment! There is no need for Ruby Recruit right now to put a piece out there about Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, or Employer Brand, all-important I know, but I’ll leave those insights to the people I'm searching for!
I believe right now the Human Resources Market is that buoyant and the demand for high-quality HR Professionals so high that your recruiters and talent professionals simply have to be utilising every possible sourcing channel to identify the talent required to drive your people and culture strategies for 2020 and beyond.
Right now, with saturated job boards the ‘Active candidate market’ is not meeting the demand for talent, and with the HR Professionals adding more and more value across multiple facets of their businesses there isn't even the time for them to be “active” even if they wanted too.
So, what is the point I'm trying to make here? Well if you are searching for that genuine HR talent to join your business right now, be sure that you’re not playing a sit and wait game, get active, get sourcing, and don’t rely on any single method, they’re too busy to come to you, let's go and find them!

5 年A great reminder for everyone Kelly. Other than avoiding being off brand and brand dilution, sticking to your knitting cements to your audience what you do. I often refer to it to my clients as their 5 anchor #hashtags. If your content isn’t about one (or more) of those - step away.
