Stewardship

Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thine will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I petition thee to bless my eyes that they see what course I should pursue this day in order to help me complete the work which I should be doing. Only that which I finish will be of value to anyone else. the most important function I must learn here on earth is how to finish that which Thou started me on.

Not only must an author finish the book he writes but the writer must finish the story he starts. When our eyes constantly see a huge smorgasbord before us and we begin to choose to nibble a little here and our eyes see a little delicacy over there then we may end up broke and hungry 10 miles from where we started with a thousand memories that don't finish the story we started on and the smorgasbord be nowhere in sight. That writer will find that history wants to cover him up more thoroughly than the Sumerians were covered up by the sands of time.

As it is for the author so it is also for the carpenter and the potter at her wheel. Aba, it is not just that I finish the course I chose to start on, but also that I need to finish that course which Thou started me out to finish in this lifetime!

This is my prayer for this day. Thank Thee for giving it to me. ~ Lin Stone
