Steve Atkinson is an Eastern Shore native and he has variant interest on the heritage history, arts and entertainment that happens on the Eastern Shore to Delmarva Peninsula. He started a few years ago as the Chester Dell Criers which is an online arts and entertainment site. One of the reasons Steve started that in the first place was because he wanted to support community theater which he is involved with heavily on the upper Eastern Shore
Right now, arts and entertainment is a little bit on the cold air so to speak. It’s where he wanted to go, it’s where he wanted to be and after spending almost 30 years in the technology industry, he went back to what he really considers his roots because he actually went to college a long time ago.
In the theatre arts and it was his way of coming back. He was also a photographer, he does some fine arts stuff and he has another interest which he calls the Delmarva scenes which is, right now it’s basically a postcard site. He sells greeting cards the pictures he’s taken throughout the Delmarva.
The reason he did that was when we went into lockdown, he said, “Well, people can’t get to the Eastern Shore, I’ll bring it to them once a day through the pictures.” Since they pretty much reopened on this past weekend, he figured the whole idea of what he was doing it for is coming to a close and he was just hoping it soon that we can actually get out and enjoy the Eastern Shore life and he’s sure that a lot of people around would agree that. They want to get across the Bay Bridge on this side of the bridge and have fun.
