Steve Asher Takes Office as New Precinct 4 Constable
Collin County welcomes Steve Asher as the newly elected constable for Precinct 4. A seasoned law enforcement professional with 29 years of experience, Asher brings a rich blend of expertise and leadership to his new role.
Born and raised in Sparks, Nevada, Asher began his distinguished career with the Sparks Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Chief of Police. During his 24 years in Sparks, he held various positions, including Patrol Commander, Detective Commander, Internal Affairs Lieutenant, and Training Sergeant. He also served as a SWAT officer, motorcycle officer, and detective, showcasing his versatility and dedication to public safety.
In 2013, Asher relocated to Texas to be closer to family, joining the Collin County Sheriff's Office shortly thereafter. Over eight years, he served in several key leadership roles, including Administrative and Operations Assistant Chief Deputy, Patrol Lieutenant, and Investigator. Most recently, he held the position of Chief Deputy Constable for Precinct 4 in Frisco, Texas, before being elected as constable.
Asher’s extensive education underscores his commitment to professional development. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Homeland Security from Northcentral University and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Truckee Meadows Community College. A graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 229), he has also completed the Senior Management Institute for Policing at Harvard University. His certifications include Master, Advanced, Intermediate, and Basic Peace Officer Certificates, as well as a Basic Instructor Proficiency Certificate.
An active member of the community, Asher is affiliated with Hope Fellowship Church, the FBI National Academy Association, the North Texas Police Chiefs Association, and other professional organizations. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, water skiing, hunting, and biking.
With a legacy of service and leadership, Asher is ready to bring his experience and dedication to the residents of Precinct 4.
The Precinct 4 Constable's Office is located at the Sub-Courthouse Frisco office, at 8585 John Wesley Dr., Suite 100, Frisco, TX 75034. Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
