#StetsonStories: Five Years With Stetson Real Estate

Stetson Real Estate was born with a central focus: unsurpassed client service.  And to that end, Mary Stetson has set out to recruit, train and mentor a team of agents who can deliver at that caliber while cultivating a culture of innovation and collaboration at Stetson Real Estate. This series will explore the how and why of agent success at Stetson.

Stetson Agent Kenia Bustamante built an international career as a business and investment consultant in Europe, Asia and North America, including Mexico and Canada prior to launching her career in real estate five years ago. During her career, Kenia built an extensive network with multiple multinational companies, corporations and government entities and was able to launch a successful real estate career with this extensive network as the foundation.  Kenia is very active in the Westchester expat community, and along with her bustling career in real estate, works as an art director, investor and connector, work which further widens her network and sphere of influence. 

It was their shared entrepreneurial spirit that seems to have connected Mary and Kenia right away.  “When I met Mary 7 years ago, she encouraged me to get my real estate license and take advantage of my experience relocating,” says Kenia.  “It was the best decision ever. I couldn't have a better mentor than Mary. She is very professional and trustworthy, and a go-for-it kind of person.  She puts that into the organization. I learned very much from her 25+ experience in Real Estate and entrepreneurship spirit,” Kenia continues. 

“Kenia’s network is impressive,” says Mary Stetson. “She is a smart, savvy powerhouse. She  is true adviser to her clients, knowing how to counter thoughts and help people reach their goals,” she continues.  “Over the past five years, Kenia has mastered how to use her talents and experience in the name of client service. Using that as a launching point, Kenia has made smart and natural progression from building out a network to building out a true real estate practice.” 

Kenia is using her combine professional and personal experience to focus on her niche, specifically international and domestic relocation.  “Kenia came to me with a vision for a team focusing on fully servicing the relocation community,” says Mary. “She took that idea and built The Westchester Relocation Team.  Her vision is phenomenal. She’s an expert as serving her niche. It may sound like a simple idea, but it is one that very few agents achieve.” 

Mary Stetson operates Stetson Real Estate as an incubator for agents to grow their business, and Kenia has made full use of the team and resources at SRE to do just that. “Not only was I able to take advantage of Mary’s knowledge to accelerate my career, but have felt the support of a full team behind me,” says Kenia.  “Our super star Debbi is nice and generous in everything she does, always there to do all our marketing. And the staff support so personalized,” she continues. Additionally, Stetson’s commitment to being tech-forward has had its benefits. “Mary has made the firm very tech forward, so we have all the systems in place to streamline processes and get things done.  Mary keeps things up-to-date and never boring!”  

Being part of a boutique firm has also had its advantages.  “It's a boutique firm with the reach and professionalism of any big firm,” explains Kenia.  “Plus, we have flexibility. The decision making is much faster. And the power house Mary Stetson is always there to support.”
